No, our roster is always evolving and growing as we are naturally curious and travel extensively. Emerging talent is all around us. We know where to look and how to nurture it.
DO YOU WORK WITH OTHER TYPES OF ENTERTAINERS BESIDES MUSICIANS & DJs?
Yes -so many! Exotic instrumentalists, dance troupes, compères, magicians, fire dancers, aerialists- the list goes on. Let us know what you have in mind.
DO YOU WORK WITH HIGH PROFILE & CELEBRITY ACTS?
Of course, although celebrity booking is not the primary focus of SKILL-SET, you can read Matt's back story and correctly assume that we have genuine extensive reach across the entertainment industry.
WILL SOMEONE COME WITH THE PERFORMERS TO MANAGE THE ENTERTAINMENT?
Yes, we insist on including an entertainment manager for complex events. For smaller scenarios, and for DJ-only events, usually not. For venues that are new to us, we will send out one of our sound technicians to check over the setup before confirming exactly who and what we need to supply.
DO YOU PROVIDE EQUIPMENT, STAGING, SOUND & LIGHTING?
We work with a variety of trusted industry partners for all AV requirements. We will spec in great detail, liaise and coordinate each and every aspect of an installation. In luxury environments, discretion is crucial. Untidy cabling and unnecessary equipment displays are a no-no, for example. For destination events we will work to the same level of detail with you or your event planner’s preferred suppliers.
DO YOU PROVIDE SOUND & LIGHTING TECHNICIANS?
Yes, we have an extensive team of skilled technicians, and like the performers, they are all adept at working in the environments we are operating in. For destination events we will either work with local crews on site, or budget permitting, we will bring our own team.
CAN WE HAVE ONE TECHNICIAN TO DO SOUND & LIGHTS?
No, they are separate trades, like dentists and opticians.
WHY DO I NEED AN ENTERTAINMENT SUPPLIER WHEN I CAN JUST BOOK A BAND AND/OR A DJ DIRECTLY?
There are so many things that you won't have considered and that performers alone will not have the wherewithal to address. The multitude of moving parts behind the scenes needs professional attention at all times. Trust us on this.
WHY DO I NEED AN ENTERTAINMENT MANAGER AT THE EVENT WHEN I HAVE A PLANNER ALREADY?
Your planner and their team have enough to do! Taking the pressure off them when it comes to managing the complexities of an entertainment programme allows them to fully focus on their primary agenda - you.
HOW DOES YOUR CREATIVE PROCESS WORK?
Start with a concept, a wish list, a vision -tell us all about it and we will respond with an initial draft of potential options and indicative costs. From there we will work with you to define and shape your entertainment programme, with as much communication and discourse as you would like.
CAN I TELL THE PERFORMERS WHAT TO SING?
Of course! Artists have extensive repertoire lists detailing the music they are most comfortable performing, which we will share with you to choose from, if you so wish. Requests can always be accommodated within reason and with notice, preferably not during an event.
CAN I TELL THE DJ WHAT TO PLAY?
Again, of course, although with a DJ focusing on the wider picture of the arc of a set, requests can sometimes be off-putting. It is better to discuss preferences in advance.
CAN I TELL THEM WHAT TO WEAR?
Most certainly. Dress codes are always observed and themes accommodated. All our artists understand the difference between black tie & white tie, cocktail and evening wear, for example. They all love to dress up, and are equally happy to dress down! We will send as many visuals of options as you would like.
DO YOU PROVIDE BACKGROUND MUSIC PLAYLISTS?
Yes indeed. An essential part of any event and key to a brand’s identity. In-between moments demand their own soundtrack -arrivals, departures, transitions, speech backgrounds, video tributes, even the music playing in the restrooms is important. We have it covered, and again we will work with you to define and craft these elements.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
As you probably know, live entertainment can be very expensive. Please bear in mind that you are hiring specialists to share their talents with your guests. Talents that have been finessed over a lifetime. SKILL-SET is positioned at the higher end of the marketplace, but nevertheless falls within what would be considered realistic. Our rates are competitive. Please ask for a quote.
CAN YOU SEND ME A PRICE LIST?
We do not have a fixed price list. We will quote and refine quotes for each project as required, and we will do what we can to get projects over the line to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.
WHAT ABOUT TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION COSTS?
Initially we will estimate, and once agreed in principle, we will seek out the most cost-effective solutions for travel and accommodation for all artists and crew, with full transparency and with no premium ever applied.

Fully negotiable and available on request.
